Box at UD

UD faculty, staff and students are licensed to use Box, UD's enterprise tool for secure cloud file storage.

NOTE: UDRI has a different implementation strategy for Box; the information below may not apply if you're a UDRI employee.

What is Box?

Box is a cloud file storage application, similar to Google Drive, but with the additional security of enterprise management - the ability for UD to create, provision and remove access to folders based on your position at the University.

Getting started with your UD Box account

To access your UD Box account, visit go.udayton.edu/box and login with your UD username and password.

When you log in, you'll see a folder titled “Getting Started with Box at UD” with training resources and a workspace folder titled with your UD username for your individual use.

If you have questions, reach out to the UDit Service Center or your unit’s IT support team. We hope you find this new tool useful to your work at UD!

What should I expect during UD’s transition from Novell file storage to Box?

During the 2020-21 academic year, UDit will work with campus units and unit IT staff to transition Novell file storage, both personal and shared, to Box.

The videos below provide an overview of UD’s Box transition planning.
Part 1: About Box at UD - What is Box? Why / when / how is UD moving to Box?
