If you use Zoom on your personal or UD-owned computer, running the latest version will make sure you have the most current security updates installed. Once installed, the Zoom client should automatically update, but you may want to periodically check for updates manually as described below.

- Launch the Zoom App from your Windows Start menu (or Mac equivalent) or launch the shortcut icon on your Windows / Mac desktop.
Alternate: For Windows 10 users, click on the Start menu and type the word Zoom. Then click on the Zoom App icon.
- Click on Sign In then click on SSO.
- Click Open Link if you are prompted by the following information:
- Enter udayton and click Continue if you are prompted for this information.
- Enter your UD login credentials and 2FA credentials if you are prompted for this information.
- Click the avatar in the upper right corner for the app and select Check for Updates.
- If it says You are up to date, you’re done for now. If not, update to the latest version.
- If Zoom reports that automatic updates are disabled on your UD-owned computer, follow the steps below for reinstalling Zoom from UD’s Ivanti Portal Manager.
Updating Zoom through the Portal Manager on your UD-managed computer
If you are unable to check for Zoom updates with the process described above, you may need to reinstall the software from UD’s Ivanti Portal Manager.
- Click on the window in the lower left corner of your screen and type “portal.” Portal Manager should appear as an option in the list of available software; click to launch the Portal Manager NOTE: Mac users will find the Portal Manager in Launchpad.
- Locate Zoom in the list of available software and click to install the application.
NOTE: If you’re unable to reinstall Zoom from the Ivanti Portal Manager as described above (e.g., if the Zoom software isn't listed as an option), follow the directions below to update your Ivanti Portal Manager Agent or contact the IT Service Center for assistance.
Updating your Ivanti Portal Manager Agent
If the Zoom software update doesn't appear in the list of software options in the Ivanti Portal Manager, you may need to update your Portal Manager Agent.
- Click on the window in the lower left corner of your screen and type “portal.” Portal Manager should appear as an option in the list of available software; click to launch the Portal Manager NOTE: Mac users will find the Portal Manager in Launchpad.
- Locate Ivanti Agent - Windows Default or Ivanti Agent - Public Agent (depending on the version of the Ivanti Portal Manager agent you currently have installed) in the list of available software.
- Click to install the application.
- Repeat the directions under Updating Zoom through the Portal Manager on your UD-managed computer above to update your Zoom software.
Check for Zoom Updates (Mobile Devices)
If you use Zoom on your smartphone, make sure you update that along with all your other apps regularly. Check for updates on your mobile Zoom App by selecting Settings - About - Version.
