Service Overview
Undergraduate and master's level students can use this form to request to participate in the spring commencement ceremony as an early walker.
Early walkers are limited to undergraduate students and master’s level students completing their academic requirements in the Summer term and requesting participation in the Spring commencement ceremony. The form opens on the first day of Spring term classes and closes on the first Monday in April. Students will be notified of final decisions by the first Friday in April.
Undergraduate students, to qualify as an early walker, you:
- Must be within 7 hours of meeting your graduation requirements
- Must be enrolled in the remaining credits in the summer term
- Must have received approval to complete the remaining credits elsewhere
- Must apply for the Summer graduation.
- May not be a candidate for Spring graduation. If you are a Spring graduation candidate, you must convert your application to a Summer application.
Master's level students, to qualify as an early walker, you:
- Must have 6 or fewer credit hours left to complete during the Summer term following the Spring commencement.
- Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the university.
- May not be enrolled in a doctoral program or the master of physician assistant practice program.
- Must be registered for remaining Summer coursework by the Spring commencement date.
- Must have successfully defended their Master’s thesis, if required, prior to the Spring commencement date.
- Must apply for the Summer graduation.
- May not be a candidate for Spring graduation. If you are a Spring graduation candidate, you must convert your application to a Summer application.
