Softphone allows you to make and receive calls on your smartphone or computer as if you’re calling from your UD office Voice-Over-IP (VOIP) campus phone. The following instructions guide you through the steps required to set up a UD soft phone on your UD-managed Android, iOS, MacOS or Windows device.
Since the options may vary depending on your device type and operating system, the instructions may not exactly match what you see on your device. They should be close enough to help you navigate the setup, but if you encounter any problems, reach out to our IT Service Center for assistance.
Step 1: Install and enable the softphone security certificate
Step 2: Install and connect to UD’s Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Step 3: Install and configure the Avaya Workplace application
Step 1: Install and enable the security certificate
To ensure the functionality of the softphone on your smartphone or the Workplace Client on your computer, you must install a security certificate on your device.
If the instructions displayed below don’t match what you’re seeing on your device, look for a “search” or “help” feature in your device settings and search for directions to “install a security certificate”.
