Late Withdrawal Request

Service Overview

Use this form to submit your formal request to the Late Withdrawal Committee to officially withdraw with a W beyond the last allowed withdrawal date. You must make your request by 4:30 pm on the last day of class instruction of each academic term.

The Late Withdrawal Committee will only consider requests from undergraduate students who have experienced extenuating circumstances. You will need to submit additional documentation and other background information for consideration. The committee will review your request and inform you of their decision by the last day of final exams of each academic semester.

You must submit your appeal no later than three business days after you receive electronic notification through your University of Dayton-provided email address. Late withdrawals will show as a W on your transcript. Total withdrawal from all classes after the deadline to withdraw from classes with a W requires a written request through the Late Course Withdrawal Request.
