Kaltura is the University of Dayton’s video storage and streaming platform and can be used in Canvas courses or via the MediaSpace video portal.
In Canvas, Kaltura allows students and instructors to easily upload and embed their videos into different Canvas tools (such as Announcements, Assignments, Discussions, Modules, etc.), by uploading existing videos (from a computer, phone, or mobile device), or recording videos on-the-fly within the application (through a web cam or mobile device).
In MediaSpace, Kaltura allows users to upload existing videos (from a computer, phone, or mobile device) or record videos on-the-fly within the application (through a web cam or mobile device). The video portal also allows users to create channels and playlists for their videos.
NOTE: All videos uploaded to Kaltura are automatically closed-captioned.
