Near Field Communication (NFC) is a wireless technology that allows devices to communicate when they are close together (e.g., opening campus door readers and making secure transactions).
To learn more about enrolling an Android device, visit digital FlyerCard: Enrolling a Device.
NOTE: NFC must be enabled for UD's digital FlyerCard to work correctly with Android devices.
- Go to your device settings (typically a gear icon at the top or bottom of the device's screen).
- Tap Connections or Connected devices.
NOTE: For specific Android device instructions, go to the vendor's website.
- Tap NFC and contactless payments.
- Turn on the NFC switch.
- (Optional) Some Android devices have an additional setting for unlocking the device in order to use NFC. This prevents someone who has your phone from using it for door access or to purchase something if they found your physical card, but it is less convenient.
- Exit your device settings. Your Android device is now ready to be used with UD's digital FlyerCard.
