Virtual Whiteboard Options at UD

Body

Virtual whiteboards allow you to draw on digital canvases and annotate documents and presentations. You can also save writings, refer back to previous writings, create sticky notes, incorporate images, and share content.

Faculty, staff, and students have access to the following virtual whiteboard tools:

Box Canvas

Lucidspark (used with UD’s Canvas LMS)

Zoom Whiteboards

Google Jamboard (retiring in December 2024)
 

Box Canvas

Box Canvas is a digital whiteboard integrated into your UD Box account.  It comes with an infinite amount of working space and a toolset for visual collaboration.
 

Accessing Box Canvas from Your Box Account

  1. Open your UD Box account.
     
  2. Go to the left sidebar and click Canvas.
     
  3. Review the Creating and Editing Box Canvas support page for additional information.

Lucidspark

Lucidspark is a virtual whiteboard integrated into UD’s Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and is one of many components within the Lucid Suite. With Lucidspark you can create, design, and brainstorm “workspace boards” in real-time collaboration.

In addition to virtual whiteboarding, there are additional features of Lucid Spark that can be used with a Canvas class:

Zoom Whiteboards

Zoom whiteboards are collaboration tools you can access during or outside of a meeting. Zoom whiteboards allow you to create, design, and brainstorm in real time.
 

Accessing Whiteboards as a Meeting Host

  1. Open your UD Zoom account.
     
  2. Start a Zoom Meeting.
     
  3. Go to the Zoom toolbar and click the Whiteboards icon. If it does not appear on your Zoom toolbar, click More then click Whiteboard.
     
  4. Click one of the following options:

    New whiteboard
    Existing whiteboards

Google Jamboard

NOTICE: Google Jamboard will be view-only (no new jams or editing old jams) starting October 1, 2024 and will no longer be available after December 31, 2024. Read the "Google Jamboard is winding down" article for more information.

Jamboard is Google’s virtual whiteboard which is connected to the Google Workplace. Users have the ability to present, edit and share files during jams (meetings) with Google services like Drive, Sheets and Slides.
 

Accessing the Jamboard app from Google Workspace

  1. Open your UD Google account.
     
  2. Click Apps (3 x 3 grid) in the upper right corner of any of the Google Apps services, then click Jamboard.
