To add a new asset application for your asset management needs contact a TDX admin.
Applications / Software
Streamline application, software, and system asset management to facilitate change management, record downtimes and outages, and manage contract and license renewals. Manage data security, regulatory compliance, ownership, primary contacts, admins, date information, purchasing info, status, links and resources.
Please be aware that the following system assets serve as a catch-all for recording downtime and outages:
- Campus door access
- Campus network
- Campus phone
- Campus printing
TDNext linked desktops available:
- IT Application / System Management (linked)
- IT Application Data Security (linked)
Assets / CIs
The Assets / CIs application is designated for miscellaneous assets and configuration items. A CI encompasses any service component, infrastructure element, or other item crucial for ensuring service delivery success, including hardware and software components.
Current used for:
- Google resources
- Shared mailboxes
- Scan destination folders
AV Hardware
Future home of Telecom / AV equipment
Hardware
The Hardware application is designated for devices (laptops, tablets, workstations), printers and monitors. Note for report titles "Device" is considered laptops, tablets, and workstations, excluding other hardware.
Each asset must have Serial Number or Name, Status, and Service tag. Service tag MUST be unique and the TDNext form will not validate.
Prioritize maintaining the Owning Acct/Dept, Owner, Status, and Support group attributes for the asset to ensure effective management and support.
TDNext linked desktops available:
- IT Hardware Device Management (linked)
Device Lifecycle Management (DLM)
When a user service request includes an "Asset tag," a workflow will automatically locate and link the ticket to the corresponding asset. This enables technicians to track the asset's journey across its lifecycle by accessing all requests and activities associated with it.
