How do I use the Knowledge Base to find answers and solutions?

The Knowledge Base is a great resource for self-help guides, finding answers to common questions, and instructions for common tasks.

Navigate to the the UD Service Catalog by going to go.udayton.edu/servicecatalog and conduct a search by categories or by using the search bar.
 

Searching by Categories


  1. Click the Knowledge Base link at the top of the screen or click the Browse the Knowledge Base link on the Service Catalog right sidebar.
     
  2. Click on a category. For IT related articles (e.g. Campus Printing), click UDit:

     
  3. Click on a category or scroll down and click on an article title. Some categories contain one or more sub-categories and multiple articles.


     

Using the Search Bar


  1. Click on the search bar.


     
  2. Type an item that you would like to search for. To search for items using an exact match, place double quotes around the item (e.g. "Box").


     
  3. Press the <ENTER> key on your keyboard or click the search icon.

To filter the search to just Knowledge Base articles, click the drop down list to the left of the search bar and choose Knowledge Base.
