Using a Classroom Touchpanel

Each Audio-Visual system has a control panel allowing presenters to select inputs (Podium PC, HDMI, VGA, doc cam, etc.) and manage the presentation tools. The vast majority will be digital touch panels however the physical button panels work much the same.

Powering on / Powering off the Podium System

  1. If the digital control panel is dark, tap the screen to wake it. Press the power on / off button on the top left of the Control Panel. Both the projector’s indicator lights and the power button flashes during the powering on and shutting down process.

    NOTE: Do not press any additional buttons during this time. Wait until both the button and the projector’s indicator lights stop flashing before making another selection. Once the power button has stopped flashing it turns blue (powered on) or black (powered off).
  2. Use the same power button to turn off the projection system. The projector will flash as it goes through the power down process.

Using the Dedicated Podium PC

The podium PC will be the default input in the classroom. The ‘PC’ button on the panel will always refer to the provided machine.

  1. Log into the podium PC with your University username and password. The podium PC can be used without turning on the projection system.

    NOTE: If the monitor is dark and attempts to wake the system with the mouse or keyboard fail, look for the monitor and PC power buttons to ensure everything is powered on.
  2. To log off, click the Windows Start icon (Windows symbol). Click Profile and choose Logoff. Do not shutdown the podium PC.

Adjusting Audio

  1. Before adjusting the room volume, try adjusting the computer volume (located bottom right) or the volume of the application you are using (Zoom,YouTube,video link, podcast, etc.)
  2. Room volume is controlled by the volume up and volume down buttons located on the top right of the touchscreen user panel.
  3. Press the volume icon button to mute or unmute.

    NOTE: Room microphones have separate volume control, also located at the bottom right.

Switching Inputs

  1. After turning on the projection system, the dedicated podium PC will be the default input.
  2. Press the desired input to switch, ensure the wanted device is connected and powered on before switching.

    NOTE: If the touchpanel has both input and destination options, select the wanted input then all of the wanted destinations for the input.
