STEP 1: Download and Install LockDown Browser for University of Dayton
A few things to know about downloading the Lock Down Broswer:
- If you previously installed Respondus LockDown Browser for use at another school, you’ll need to delete it and re-install from the links above.
- After installation, you'll need to launch the LockDown Browser from your computer desktop, navigate to canvas.udayton.edu, and log in with your UD credentials.
- Screen recording extensions such as Screenify must be disabled before installation.
- If you're prompted for administrator credentials upon installation and launch, and your computer username and password doesn't work, you're likely using a company or library computer that you don't own. Either contact the computer owner / help desk for administrator credentials or try again on a computer on which you have administrator rights (i.e. the ability to install software).
STEP 2: Complete a practice assessment using LockDown Browser
Your instructor should provide a non-graded assessment with unlimited attempts using LockDown Browser so you can practice using this browser before completing a graded assessment.
