Accessing UD's Regional Cyber Range

Virtual machines (VM) can be configured in UD's Cyber Range to provide a secure space for learning about and practicing cybersecurity skills. UD faculty, staff and students can request a VM on the range by completing the Cyber Range Virtual Machine Request form.
 

  1. Go to https://drcr.udayton.edu. The Dayton Regional Cyber Range login page appears:


     
  2. Login with your University username, password.  When prompted, enter your 2FA credentials.

    NOTE:  Do not add @udayton.edu to your username.
     
  3. Once you're logged into the system, you will see one of two screens.  If you are entitled to (1) Virtual Machine, you will immediately see the virtual machine console:


     
  4. If you are entitled to (2) or more Virtual Machines, you will see a menu.  Select the virtual machine you want to view:


     
  5. When you are in the virtual console of your virtual machine, you can access the menu at any time by entering the following key combination:

    macOS:  Control-Option-(Left)Shift

    Windows/Linux:  Ctl-Alt-(Left)Shift


     
  6. To return to the main menu, click your username in the right corner of the menu and choose Disconnect or Home.


     

If you have any technological issues with range machines, or problems accessing the machines, call the IT Service Center at (937) 229-3888 or complete the Report a Problem with the Dayton Regional Cyber Range form.
