Accessing / Downloading Minitab

University of Dayton faculty and students can access Minitab in one of three ways:

• Minitab Web App
• Download the Desktop App (Windows users only)
• Academic VDI (Virtual Desktop Interface)
   

Accessing the Minitab Web App

1. Visit app.minitab.com using Google Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge. Firefox is not a supported browser.
   
   NOTE: Mac users must use the Web App or use Academic VDI to access Minitab.
    
2. Login with your UD email (i.e. rflyer1@udayton.edu) and password.
    
3. If you are taken to the My Account screen, go to the My Products section and click on Minitab Statistical Software. If prompted, choose Open Web App.
    

Downloading the Desktop App (Windows users only)

1. Visit https://www.minitab.com/en-us/support/downloads/
    
2. Go to the Minitab Statistical Software section and click DOWNLOAD MINITAB STATISTICAL SOFTWARE.
   
   
    
3. If prompted, sign in with your UD username and password, then authenticate through 2FA.
    
4. Locate the downloaded Minitab zip folder on your computer and double-click it to open it.
    
5. Unzip the folder, then run the Minitab executable file (minitab*.exe). This will require admin rights.
    
6. Click Next through the prompts and accept the terms.
    
7. Select activate with a license.
    
8. Click Next through the prompts and then install.
    
9. Open Minitab.
    
10. Enter your UD email and password to activate.
