Register a New Phone in Your 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) Account

If your phone number remains the same, you can activate the new phone by accessing the device settings in the 2FA authentication prompt:

  1. From your browser's tool menu, start a private window (Firefox, Safari), an incognito window (Chrome) or an InPrivate window (IE).
  2. Go to porches.udayton.edu and log in with your UD username and password. This opens the 2FA authentication prompt. STOP.  NOTE: If you have set the 2FA prompt to push a notification to your device automatically, you may need to click "cancel" to stop the notification push.
  3. Before clicking anything else, select "My Settings & Devices" from the menu of options on the left side of the screen. You'll be prompted to complete your 2FA login.
  4. Click "Device Options" for the device you want to update.
  5. Click "Reactivate Duo Mobile" and follow the prompts.
  6. You will get a new QR code to scan with the Duo app on the new phone.
