Installing and using Foxit PDF Editor (Windows)

UD faculty and staff can install and activate FoxIt PDF Editor onto a UD-provided computer with the following procedures.

Request Foxit Subscription

Foxit PDF Editor requires a user license. Contact the UDit Service Center or your IT unit. The Service Center can be reached at (937) 229-3888 or complete a Service Request form for questions regarding user license requirements.
 

Installing Foxit from the Ivanti Portal Manager

If you have Foxit PDF or a trial version of Foxit PDF Creator installed, uninstall these applications prior to installing Foxit PDF Editor.

Once the Ivanti Portal Manager has opened, scroll through the list until you find Foxit Editor. Click the Install icon to start the installation process. Once the download starts, wait for it to complete. When it is done, you will see the Foxit PDF icon on your desktop.
 

Launch and Activate the Foxit PDF Editor

  • Before launching Foxit for the first time, make sure you are on the UD Campus or connected to the UD VPN.
     
  • Double-click the Foxit PDF shortcut on your desktop or select it from the Windows Start menu.
     
  • When Foxit PDF opens, a login window for activating the software appears. Click Sign In.
     
  • Enter your UD email address as the username and your UD password (i.e., the same password you use for UD Gmail, Porches, etc.) then click Sign In.

If you receive the following error make sure you have completed the Request FoxIt Subscription step at the top of this article.
